KANG Myungchan

Perfect Storm Film Inc. / CEO

KANG Myungchan is a producer specialised in Korean and international feature films. Starting with L'Abri in 2001, he has been in the business for 20 years being as a producer of Way Back Home, C'est Si Bon, A Single Rider, Take Point, Ashfall, The Closet and so on. Besides the film productions, being in charge of the overseas unit of TV series such as Descendants of The Sun, The Legend of Blue Sea he is also known as an expert for shooting abroad.
He launched Perfect Storm Film in 2014, a leading production company based in Seoul with an international creative network of the film industry. The company focuses on the development, financing, and production of feature films both at home and overseas.

KIM Byungin

Screenwriters Guild of Korea / President

Kim Byungin is the President of Screenwriters’ Guild of Korea, and wrote original screenplay of My Way directed by Kang, Jaegyu. He also wrote a novel D-Day based on the aforementioned screenplay. He invested in 27 Korean Films as a film fund manager of Ilshin Investment and Daesung Investment, Venture Capital companies. He worked as a Senior Vice President of CJ ENM taking charge of co-production and investment with North America. He taught Designing of Screenplay as an adjunct professor at Chugye University of the Art.

SUH Youngjoo

Finecut Entertainment / CEO

After founding FINECUT in 2008, SUH Youngjoo has produced, financed, and internationally distributed numerous Korean films. Including works from her early career in the 1990's at a Korean film financing and distribution firm, SUH’s filmography now consists of over 200 internationally distributed titles and many award-winning titles from acclaimed directors such as LEE Chang-dong’s BURNING, PARK Chan-wook’s OLD BOY, KIM Jee-woon’s I SAW THE DEVIL, NA Hong-jin’s THE CHASER, HONG Sangsoo’s IN ANOTHER COUNTRY, KIM Ki-duk’s PIETA, and BONG Joon-ho’s THE HOST and recently IM Sang-soo’s HEAVEN which was invited to Cannes 2020 official selection. SUH’s producing credits include films such as Pablo Trapero’s LION’S DEN and CARANCHO, a Korean-Argentine co-production. SUH also co-produced YEON Sangho’s zombie animated feature SEOUL STATION.
In 2014, to expand and diversify her film business towards a Total Agency System, SUH launched Actor’s Management division known as FINECUT ENTERTAINMENT and also established the first Writers’ Agency in Korea, under the brand name “WAF: Writers of Finecut”, representing 29 writers as of 2020.
Now Finecut is in development for diverse movies and series from original IP and novels.
Through FINECUT’s interconnected business divisions, SUH now seeks to focus on producing edgy high-concept films and drama series, pursuing potential synergy between the entertainment business and her production works, thus creating the cradle of global artists.

Kini S. KIM

President

Kini S. KIM was formerly EVP, Head of International at CJ Entertainment, one of the biggest studios in Asia. For more than 20 years, he had helped to internationally introduce and distribute some of Korea’s most acclaimed auteurs: Park Chan-wook (THE HANDMAIDEN, THIRST), Bong Joon-ho (MEMORIES OF MURDER, MOTHER, SNOWPIERCER), Lee Chang-dong (SECRET SUNSHINE), Kim Jee-woon (A BITTERSWEET LIFE and THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE WEIRD) among many others. Since 2010, he had been involved in local productions and regional direct distribution in the US, Japan and Southeast Asian territories such as Vietnam and Indonesia, including executive producing Indonesian director Joko Anwar’s A COPY OF MY MIND (2015, Venice Film Festival). He was a jury member for the main competition at the Sydney Film Festival 2017 and SEAFIC 2017.  He was a selection and operating committee member of ACF at Busan International Film Festival 2018.  He is now the Asian acquisitions representative at THE JOKERS FILMS and LA RABBIA (for French Territories) as well as lecturing as an affiliate professor at Soongsil University and Korea National University of Arts in Seoul.  In 2019, as an international consultant, he’s been involved in Bong Joon-ho’s PARASITE,  the 2009 Palme d’Or and the 2020 Oscar winner.

KIM Young

MIRU Picture / Producer

KIM Young, Producer of MIRU Pictures, was the Co-Producer of A Tale of Two Sisters by Director KIM Jeewoon and the Executive Producer of Digital Short Film Omnibus Project Twentidentity, an omnibus short film project with 20 directors including BONG Junho and KIM Taeyong. She was the Team 2 Chief and Producer at Motion 101, a subsidiary of Showbox, and the Executive Producer in charge of production planning, marketing and distribution for the Korean Academy of Film Arts’ feature course (currently named KAFA+). She then worked as the Movie Collage Team Chief at CJ CGV (currently called CGV Arthouse) and was part of CJ CGV America in L.A. in charge of exhibition business for CJ E&M U.S. Kim is currently developing various Korean film projects and international co-production projects and has a strong interest in developing technology-based contents as well as films.

Jonathan KIM

Hanmac Culture Group / CEO

Veteran producer Jonathan KIM has served two terms as the Chairman of the Korean Film Producer’s Association. With the career in the Korean film industry that span over 30years, KIM has produced over 20 motion picture films. He has recently concluded his appointment as an executive-level film consultancy role at South Korean entertainment conglomerate CJ E&M where he played an integral part in success of Masquerade (2012) and A Wedding Invitation(2013). His 2004 blockbuster Silmido(2003) based on the true story of a team of South Korean commandos trained to assassinate the North Korean President, blew away with all records with 11 million box office tickets sold, representing one-quarter of the South Korean population. In 2004, Mr. Kim was awarded the Daejong Award for Best Executive Producer, the Korean equivalent of Oscar. A member of Korea/Japan Culture Exchange Committee and an International Advisor to the Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum(HAF), KIM has also been an advocate of intra-Asian co-productions. A regular speaker at various International Film & Contents industry forums, he sells Korean contents as cool and the most vibrant industry in Asia.

Joyce Heeyoung CHO

Busan Asia Film School / Professor

Joyce Heeyoung CHO is a media financing/producing specialist based in Seoul, Korea. CHO started her industry career as a producer at a local film house right after graduating from Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) as a producing major in 2007. Her previous major work experience in the field includes work at CJ CGV, CJ E&M, and Timewise Investment, where she covered extensive range of roles including financing more than 50 local commercial films. In 2015, CHO co-produced The Last Knights, a US/Korea/Japan co-production epic directed by Kazuaki Kiriya and starring Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman. Currently she works as a professor for Busan Asian Film School (AFiS) in Korea.

SHIN Wonson

Hanmac Culture Group / Consultant

Wonsun Shin is a consultant for Hanmac Culture Group in Korea for co-production projects and remake rights acquisitions. She was also an acquisitions executive for Widwin Film in Korea in 2017. She was at CJ Entertainment for 6 years prior to joining Hanmac Culture Group in Korea where she gained extensive knowledge on marketing and distributing foreign films in Korea working with such companies as Paramount Pictures and Dreamworks Animations and was a director of international film festival strategies and international marketing for CJ’s Korean films as well as international co-production films before joining the U.S. Co-production team.

Lucy Roykyoung CHUN

Santa Lucia / CEO

She began her career in film at major film production company CINE2000. During her early years in film, her experience and expertise spanned various fields including development, marketing and publicity through collaboration with talented directors, actors and film crew on films such as Art Museum by the Zoo(1998), Mayonnaise(1999), Memento Mori(1999), Interview(2000), Surprise Party (2002) and Addicted(2002). She moved up to the Head of Film Development at CINE2000(2001~2002) while expanding into film production with Spin Kick(2003) in which she worked as Line Producer. She made her debut as film producer with The Voice(2005), the 4th edition of the Whispering Corridors girls’ high school horror series which began in 1998 and continued producing other titles from feature: <Officer of the Year(2011)> and The Terror, Live(2013) to several mid-length & short films: Two Teeth: If you were me 5(2010), Fever: One Night Stand(2009) and Our Last Words, Live: Short! Short! Short! Show me the money(2009). In 2013, she received the 'Producer of the Year' at WIFK(Women In Film Korea). Currently she is working on several feature projects of her own production company.

LEE Sunmi

Producer

In 1991, she founded “Independent Film CHUNG NYUN” an independent film creative group composed of students from 7 universities. It produced and screened “Mother, Your Son’', which depicted the conflicts and reconciliation between a student activist son and mother. The history of “Generation Blue Films” began in the year 2000, a commercial film production company composed of creators of ‘Independent Film CHUNG NYUN’ producing its inaugural film Wanee & Junha (2001/Director: KIM Yong-gyun) After producing So cute (2004)_Director: KIM Soo-hyun, No Regret (2006/Director: LEESONG Hee-il and Old Miss Diary (2006/Director: KIM Sok-yun), she was the general production manager of Two Weddings And a Funeral (2012/Director: KIMJHO Gwang-soo), starting with Break Away by director LEESONG Hee-il in 2008, and later was in charge of producing a commercially successful series Detective K 1,2,3.
